Despite the rubble of destroyed mosques and the harsh realities of life in the Gaza Strip, hearts remain deeply attached to the houses of Allah, holding onto His Holy Book as a shield protecting our younger generations from displacement and despair. To bridge the educational and spiritual gap and to preserve the religious identity of our children, Ejabh Organization successfully built a makeshift prayer hall. Constructed using simple, available materials like iron poles and reinforced nylon sheets, this temporary mosque serves as a safe sanctuary that gathers young hearts. From the center of this blessed structure, we launched our specialized Quran camp in Gaza to let the voices of children echo with verses of resilience and hope.
This camp does not focus solely on spiritual growth; it intelligently integrates faith-building with psychosocial support through recreational and physical activities designed to lift the heavy burdens of trauma and stress from these young minds.
1. Quranic Circles & Recitation: Cultivating a Generation of Preservers
Inside this temporary mosque, hundreds of young boys gather daily in organized circles under the guidance of specialized local teachers. This core track of the camp aims to help children review and solidify what they previously memorized, while teaching them new verses with proper Tajweed (rules of pronunciation) and recitation. This initiative provides crucial educational continuity in the absence of formal schooling, filling their days with peace, structure, and a noble purpose.
2. Psychosocial Support & Play: Reclaiming Childhood
At Ejabh, we understand that protecting children’s mental health during these critical times is just as vital as nurturing their spiritual growth. Therefore, the camp features an interactive recreational corner filled with physical activities, cooperative games, drawing workshops, and entertainment sessions with clowns and nasheed recitations. These activities allow the children to release pent-up anxiety, reclaim their basic right to play and laugh, and find a safe space to heal.
3. Excellence Awards & Incentives: Sparking Motivation and Inner Drive
At the end of each memorization phase, our field teams host modest honoring ceremonies in the courtyard of the temporary mosque. During these events, we distribute motivational rewards, gifts, and symbolic prizes to outstanding children who have completed entire sections of the Quran.
